Director of Youth Ministries
Karl Rd. Christian Church is seeking a Director of Youth Ministries. The hourly position has a starting wage of $12/hour for 10 hours/week, including Sunday mornings. Duties include providing pastoral support and programming for the youth, building relationships within the church community, and being an active member of the Christian Education Team. Job Description – Director of Youth Ministries
As an important part of the mission of Karl Road Christian Church, the Director of Youth Ministries will lead and oversee the ministry of Youth (Grades 6-12).
The Director of Youth Ministries is a permanent part-time position (10 hours a week), supervised by the Senior Pastor and the Christian Education Team. The employee will be paid twice a month and will be evaluated by the Christian Education Team two times within a calendar year.
Specific Duties for Director of Youth Ministries:
I. Provide pastoral support and build relationships with Youth.
A. Responsible for contact information for Youth.
B. Recruit and develop relationships with Adult volunteers and the parents of the Youth. Responsible for interviewing volunteers who are interested in working with Youth.
II. Develop programming for the Youth (Grades 6-12) of KRCC, including Bible study, service, and fellowship opportunities.
A. Serve as the point person for Chi Rho, CYF, and Advance Conference camp and retreat registrations. Recruit and lead registration for camp, including setting deadlines for early bird registration and establishing expectations for scholarships.
B. Work with the Outreach Team and Pastor to organize a planning
committee for mission trips and fundraising.
III. Build relationships and be part of the church community. Be present every Sunday unless otherwise arranged.
A. Work with the Pastor to help Youth to be involved in the worship service.
B. Coordinate an annual Youth Sunday.
C. Develop relationships between the Youth of KRCC and the Youth of other DOC churches in the district and the region. Participate in District 9 Youth Ministries and Regional events for Youth.
IV. Complete administrative duties.
A. Attend and submit monthly reports at CE Team meetings. Provide a monthly log of hours worked to the CE Chairperson.
B. Assist with activities of the CE Team, including recognition of CE volunteers, Graduates, and VBS.
C. The Director of Youth Ministries will be provided with an office workspace at the church building.
